Majordomo’s Domoscore app is designed to help buyers, sellers, and agents quickly and easily assess the overall condition of a home, resulting in a single number (the Domoscore). The score identifies the factors that went into producing the number – information that can give both sellers and buyers a jump on determining and prioritizing issues that might need attention with a house.
Getting a home’s Domoscore takes about 10 minutes. The app asks a few simple questions about the house and specific items in it. (For example, the app asks about the state of the kitchen counters and what year the water heater was installed. It also offers tips so that users can easily find that information.) The user walks through the house, like on a scavenger hunt, to answer the questions.
The app is an asset on both sides of the transaction. Sellers can gain perspective on the home’s true condition and thus assist to set a realistic range for an asking price. In turn, buyers and their agents can easily use the free app while visiting the house during a tour.
